Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vineyasa means “flow”, it is understood as the "sequence of consciousness” in each moment and each movement.

In our practice tomorrow we will play with "unfolding the creative pulse of life.”

It will be a string of movements and short holds, topped up with a longer meditation in the end.

Vinyasa Yoga allows for a lot of variety, but it always includes sun salutations and movement from pose to pose.

The transitions and the poses are considered evenly important.

We will appreciate the movement to the next pose in a connected, grounded way.

Vinyasa is referred to as a “Breath-synchronized” practice.

Breath always initiates the movement.

The three qualities of this practice are:

-Steadiness ( Sthira )

-Comfort ( Sukha )

-Smooth and long breathing ( Prayatna Sithila )

Benefits:

The variety helps to develop a more balanced body and mind.

It prevents repetitive motion injuries.

We recognize the temporary nature of things; we enter a pose, are there for a moment and then leave.

It stimulates our blood flow and our lymphatic System.

It strengthens our Immunity.

It connects every action in our life with the intention of moving forward.

Spring is a beautiful season to go with the flow!

Namaste,

Marielle.
