The Netherlands

Namaste from the low lands, this flat and watery land that is so familiar to me.

Holland to me, means, the damp, mineral scent rising from the polders after the rain.

It is the same exhale the land has been given in centuries. I call it “natte aarde” -wet earth.

In November I can smell the faint, sweet rot of fallen chestnuts underfoot.

Holland in November smells earthy.

Nothing grounds me more than time with my family. To engage with them makes me so grateful.

What does “home feel like in the body?

Today we will explore this anchor of feeling held.

The Yoga practice will revolve around integration, rooting and receiving.

In our poses we can visualize our roots extending into the earth, drawing up stability while remaining soft and yielding.

Much love,

Marielle
