With the new weather pattern arising, we will be more active and a way to support that is creating strength and mobility in the lateral FASCIA line.
First of all: “what is fascia?”
Fascia is connective tissue.
It is the organ of structure, it is the overall fabric that makes up our body
It surrounds the muscles, bones, organs and blood vessels.
-Creating stability and strength in our posture and movements.
-Allowing for healthy flexibility, slide and glide.
-Protecting the vital organs.
The lateral line of Fascia starts from the mid point of the foot and runs along the outside of the ankle, leg, hip, ribs, neck and attaches behind the ear.
Around the ribs, the Fascia is stronger and thicker to support the lunges and the heart.
In class tomorrow we will find power and length in the lateral line of fascia in the body.
Poses that help with that are:
Half Moon pose.
Side Plank Pose.
