Shoulder Wings Stability

The Scapula is the base of support to the shoulder joint and all the movements of the arms.

In our culture, we are often hunched over while we work on our computers, drive our cars, cook or clean. It causes our skull to be out of alignment, our scapula ( shoulder blades ) to wing out and our chest to cave in.

Poor scapular stabilization can contribute to a variety of symptoms: Neck strain/pain, head aches, nerve entrapments, restricted breathing and tension in the arms and chest.

In class, today, we will oil and tone the muscles around the shoulders and improve Scapular Stability.

The muscles we will address are:

Rhomboid: in the middle of the upper back

Serratus Anterior: beneath the shoulder blades.

We will practice resting our shoulder blades snug against the back ribs.

I hope you can make it!
