Our voice expresses the strength and flexibility in our lunges and our throat.
But the most important for our breathing ability is the movement of the diaphragm.
Breathing is the bridge between the body and the mind.
Our breath and our voice are an intimate expression of how we feel and live.
Through the Vegus Nerve, the diaphragm sends messages to the brain;
“Is everything ok or is something bad going to happen?”
The movement in the diaphragm determines the state of our nervous system.
When the diaphragm moves well, it sends out a soothing message.
When the diaphragm is stuck, a “panic-button” signal gets activated.
In this Yoga class we will develop a closer relationship with our diaphragm.
We will work with a full commitment to exhaling, twists and rib openers.
Please bring a blanket to this class.
