Hands

We are “hands on” people.

Our hands are extending through most of our activities.

Driving, riding our bicycle, cooking, working on our computers.

We often take it for granted how busy they are.

The bones of the hands provide support and flexibility to the soft tissue.

We have three different kind of bones in our hands:

1. Carpal Bones, there are eight of them and they are located in the wrist area.

2. Metacarpals, there are five of them, each connecting to a finger.

3. Phalanges, each finger has three of them, except the thumb, which has two.

All these twenty seven bones working together are founded in an amazing act of engineering.

In Yoga class today we will explore a mix of strength and mobility in the hands and the wrists.

We will mind-fully address arm balances and Sun Salutations.

For this class you will need a small ball, like a tennis ball or a golf ball.

Much love,

Marielle
