To keep awake

Updated: Dec 31, 2020

Hi dear Yoga lovers,

My friend send me this lovely poem:

Just for now, without asking how, let yourself sink into stillness.

Just for now, lay down the weight you so patiently bear on your shoulders. Just for now, be boundless, free, with awakened energy tingling in your hands and feet. Drink in the possibility of being you and what you really are -- so fully alive that the world looks different, new-born and vibrant, just for now. by Danna Faulds

I absolutely love the reminder.

it is my refresher course.

I am pretty skilled in holding on to tension, unnecessary worries and fear.

It takes courage for me to step back from all of that and to face what is:

tension, worry and fear are a tiny layer of veneer covering this enormous reservoir of love and

strength.

The word “vigilance” is rooted in a Latin word that means “to keep awake.”

This includes honest presence and objective thinking to face the truth.

Yoga is that practice for me; to live fully in my body with my heart wide open in all my “mundane” activities.

It is incredibly rewarding and it feels so generous to me to be so fully and utterly alive.

Even in the tears and the loneliness.

There is always a hint of love and that love keeps renewing my energy.

A pretty sweet deal…..

Tomorrow in class we will continue working with the chest, arm and shoulder muscles.

Big hug,

Marielle
